INTRODUCTION

Hello! After some deliberation I've decided it is time to hold my first contest. It's going to be based on my story and original characters. The theme is spring. You are free to interpret this time in any way you choose.

My story is set in a contemporary Dublin, but in an alternative timeline where magic is possible. Visually, this means the world has been influenced by different historical periods as the supernatural world seems somewhat more archaic than its technological counterpart. You'll also see this in the character's wardrobes that fluctuate from very modern to Victorian-esque.

You can draw any of my characters you like, or several together if you would like to complete a scene. There are some established pairings, but you don't have to be faithful to them if you don't want to. Feel free to make your own pairings if that's the kind of thing you like to do.

The deadline for the contest is going to be the 16th of June 12pm GMT.

CONTEST RULES

Anyone can enter the contest. You don't have to know me, watch me or be member of a group. If you fancy drawing for this contest, draw.

You can submit as many entries as you want to. However, please keep in mind that you can only place once. If you win the first prize with one entry you can't win the second prize with another.

There need to be at least 10 entries for the contest to be judged. If this is not the case by the time the deadline is reached there will be an extension.

All submissions need to be created specifically for this contest.

Please don't draw my characters together with your or anybody else's OCs. Such entries will be disqualified. If you want to draw your OCs that's cool, but please not for this contest.

Only traditional and digital entries will be accepted. Please no photography, photo manipulations, literature and so on. There are no size restrictions, however make sure to select a format appropriate to what you are doing.

No tracing and no using of textures and other resources without giving credit where credit is due. Submissions found in violation of this rule will be disqualified.

All deviantart rules must be adhered to.

Submissions may be coloured or black and white, but should be fully rendered. Please do not submit sketches. An elaborate background is not required, but please do not leave the characters floating on a white canvas. Even a simple backdrop will suffice. Of course, drawing a proper background might increase your chances of winning.

Please respect my OCs and don't draw them as animals, anthros or dressed up as characters of some fandom. You are welcome to stylise any way you please (chibis and digital dolls are perfectly alright as submissions) but please keep the characters as I described them.

You are welcome to take liberties with clothes and styling, but please don't change my characters in essentials. Lochlan without his long red curls would not be Lochlan. Entries won't be disqualified for being unfaithful to my description, but of course your chances of winning a prize will be greatly diminished.

Adult themes, such a nudity , are allowed, but please, for the love of Merlin, keep it tasteful.

If you've decided to donate to the contest you can still enter the contest. Should you happen to win your own donation we'll reassign it to somebody else.

Judges, naturally, are barred from entering the contest.

Cash prizes will be paid through paypal/ Western Union/ Moneygram or any other money transfer system that you chose. Please note that Payza is not available from the UK (my country) so I won't be able to pay you through that. Any fees (usually 4% in case of paypal) will have to be covered by you.

I can offer no guarantee that commissions donated as prizes will actually happen, but I'd like to have faith and believe that they will.

Please don't bug or harass my judges to vote for you or you will be disqualified.

The pieces will be judged on use of the theme, faithfulness to the characters, visual impact and technical skill.
